Illustration and design

I am always looking for things to apply my illustration style to and get my message and style out to the viewing public. After reading a couple of books and seeing that there is a huge sub culture of people customising their trainers I had to give it a go. I did a fair bit of research on how to prepare the trainer's leather and what inks to use so to make sure that I did not wreck a brand spanking new pair of Nikes. I prepared the leather by stripping its protective coating with Acetone and that allowed the inks and acrylics take to the surface. These are one off's at the moment and yes they have been worn since. It seemed wrong to keep them in a box.
